Frame of the Week

CK 5730    255  52/15

Lorraine our Optical Advisor at the Gloucester road practice loves this frame. Having worked in this practice for 34 years, she feels she knows what our customers would like.

This cats eyes frame is ideal that someone who wants to be just that little bit quirky.

Being an unusual 50S design and with a softer tortoise shell front means it makes a statement without being too harsh. the soft pink sides softer the look just that little bit more.

Why not try something that little bit different.......

Isn't modern technology wonderful?

I was reminded how true this statement is by a patient recently. As health care professionals we have to recognise that there are times when we don't have that magic pair of spec's or contact lenses to solve a visual requirement and that's where modern technology can help. My patient being colour blind showed me the solution to his problem in the form of a mobile phone App to colour assist him, he told me how it had made a real difference in his life knowing what colour shirt he was actually buying!

Having a browse through the App store there are many free and paid for Apps available for Android and iphone, I will be encouraging all my colour challenged patients to look into this option as a helpful tool for everyday situations. Also available are Apps that show those who see colour normally what it's like to be colour blind – as the mother of a child who is red/green deficient I would highly recommend anyone to take a walk in their shoes.

Frame of the Week

Ted Baker Melody 9060   col 007

Emma our trainee dispensing optician loves this frame, she is always recommending it for ladies to try, many automatically think it will not suit them. But the 50s up swept design is softened by the contouring purple colour.

This frame is very feminine and would suit someone with an oval or rectangular face and  cool colouring.

Why not make sure you have a spare pair of glasses or back up glasses just in case.........

Poem about losing my glasses

the place is unfamiliar
my face is bare
I've mislaid my glasses
I've looked in my glasses case
but they're not there
and I need my glasses
to find my glasses
but I'll be alright
I've got a spare pair

somewhere
